Is Amex Concierge Better Than Chase Concierge? A Comprehensive Look at AMEX and Chase Concierge Services

Is Amex Concierge Better Than Chase Concierge? A Comprehensive Look at AMEX and Chase Concierge Services

To enjoy premium and luxury facilities, an individual needs to pay premium card charges to avail of them. The charges include a lot of things such as trip-delay insurance, travel credits, concierge services, and lots more. For the unfamiliar individuals reading the blog, these concierge services can help an individual with things such as restaurant reservations, city guides, show tickets and many more thus making the traveling hassle-free. Chase Concierge vs. Amex Concierge, although they are not quite the same when put into certain parameters to compare due to various reasons.

A credit card concierge is a service provided to bank customers who have top-tier credit cards from the specific bank. These include cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card and the American Express Platinum Card respectively.

Both the cards challenges that their concierges are available 24 hours a day and can help out with a variety of tasks in an individual’s daily life and as they travel throughout the globe without any struggle. Along with standard requests for theatre tickets to help coordinate medical care, which allows them to think outside the box and assist their clients.

Credit card concierges are generally available 24/7, so rather than spending hours searching the internet, one can call, explain what they need, and let them do the work and can simple enjoy their tour. Some concierges even have exclusive connections, so an individual may be able to access sold-out tickets or even much more than that.

A credit card concierge, like a hotel concierge, is someone who can assist a traveler with various services both at home and while on the road making the journey more memorable. However, instead of meeting them face-to-face, an individual would prefer to call a number on the back of their credit card or send an email or text message for help. They can assist the cardholder with facilities ranging from minor tasks till major ones.

    What Does Chase Concierge Offer?

Chase’s top-end credit cards offer concierge services from Visa to the very end. As the issuer of Visa Infinite cards, Chase advertises 24/7 access to help with travel, dining, and entertainment requests along with other minor tasks as well. Both of Chase’s popular Sapphire cards—the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred—come with this benefit apart from other ones.

     What Does Chase Concierge Offer

Chase also features Visa Signature cards that offer concierge services, including the Chase Freedom card respectively. Depending on the specific Chase card, an individual may have access to one of two Chase concierge services.

    1. Chase Basic Concierge Services

The basic concierge services can help the holder to book restaurant reservations, or help make travel arrangements. Although at the time of issuing the card, they make sure to put across your mind the concierge agent is not a Chase account services representative, so they cannot help with any billing issues or reporting a lost card.

    Chase Premium Concierge Services

If someone has a Chase Visa Infinite card, they can enjoy all the same concierge services, but there is a wider variety of options available for such cardholders. For example, it may have greater access to reservations at popular restaurants or tickets for specific events which are not available through any sources. Additionally, the Infinite concierge is available 24/7 like all the other cards. When the cardholder calls the concierge agent, they just need to ask their question, and the solutions are offered immediately.

Amex boasts a more robust concierge service experience, at least in writing and paper works. Someone can contact them for dining, travel, show tickets, transportation needs, pet care, even help during a medical crisis, and much more.

American Express also features the Premium Global Assist Hotline, which contains a robust selection of assistance and services related to travel and others. By calling the hotline, an individual can have an emergency wire payment sent to them, receive a medical evacuation, stay informed about the weather, track missing luggage, and get assistance with acquiring a new passport.

These services work in a similar way to the Chase concierge, but they tend to have a greater focus on exclusivity and other perks. They can assist someone with hard-to-get event tickets, reservations, or tours that you may struggle to obtain yourself or through other sources. They can also help with gifts such as flowers or hampers.

However, where the American Express concierge really excels is with travel plans as it is the most exclusive service offered by them. The concierge can help during any travel disruptions and can even act on behalf of the cardholder to obtain travel refunds that he or she is left to receive. Essentially, they can act as a travel assistant and tour guides.

There are different American Express cards that offer concierge service, including the Platinum Card from American Express, the Hilton Honours American Express Aspire Card, the Business Platinum Card from American Express, the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card, and the Centurion Card (as well as its business version).

To access the concierge services, the desired individual simply needs to pick up the phone and call them for further assistance. The number is listed on the back of their card and on their account paperwork, and the team speaks 13 languages, so one can access help worldwide. As with Chase, the concierge services are free, but you will be charged for any purchases made using the service. However, any assistance with service-related requests is free from any hidden cost.

American Express also has some pull due to its reputation. This means that the concierge team can really amaze people with their requests when they are needed all throughout the year. They can book luxury suites in hotels or on cruise ships, plan destination itineraries, and even have a bottle of fine wine waiting for the cardholder on their arrival.

Which Chase Concierge Services Are Unique?

The key unique feature when comparing Chase Concierge with Amex Concierge is accessibility and easiness. Unlike American Express, there are two tiers of concierge services available with Chase credit cards, and the tier is determined by the holder’s specific credit card, which makes Chase Concierge more accessible and easy to handle.

However, even if someone has a basic Chase credit card, they can still access the Chase concierge services and enjoy the perks. The Standard Visa and Visa Signature Chase cards offer concierge services, but unlike the Infinity Visa cards, the service is not 24/7 available.

This means that someone does not need to have excellent credit or a great financial profile to access concierge services in today’s time. Additionally, the available services do not need to be premium or luxurious.

While someone can still obtain assistance with more basic and minimal matters, the American Express Concierge Service is an exceptional, premium service provided to the holder. The services are only available to Platinum Amex customers, and they tend to focus on improving travel plans or making their users’ lives a little easier and their tour hassle free.

The concierge team can handle a number of administrative tasks, such as dealing with getting a refund for a travel issue or arranging insurance paperwork if needed to arrange medical attention for an emergency.

Not all Chase credit cards include concierge services as part of their benefits and perks.  The holder needs to check their service agreement to make sure that they have access to concierge services.  Chase’s concierge services are actually provided by Visa, and there are two tiers of service provided under the slot, namely:-

    Visa Signature Concierge Service

If the card includes this service, then the holder can call or email a request 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The number to call in the United States is 800-953-7392 and 630-350-4551 abroad. Most standard requests will be completed within 24 to 48 hours.

There’s no limit to the number of times a Visa Signature cardholder can use the service and enjoy the facilities.

    Visa Infinite Concierge Service

If the Chase credit card includes Visa Infinite concierge service, then the holder can call 877-660-0905 in the U.S. or 312-800-4290 abroad for help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Although this is considered Visa’s premium concierge service, the website does not provide a lot of information about exactly what they provide and their other facilities. But it says they can help with “dinner reservations or Broadway, music, and sporting event tickets amongst many others.”

Which Chase Credit Cards Offer Concierge Services?

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card, which has a $95 annual fee, includes Visa Signature concierge service.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card, which has an annual fee of $550, includes Visa Infinite concierge service.

American Express has its own concierge service, available 24/7 to card members with premium credit cards and exclusive facilities. In this case, “premium” cards include platinum cards or other eligible cards. The holder can access the service in the U.S. by calling 800-525-3355 or 954-473-2123 abroad.

American Express calls their service a “do-anything concierge,” which means that they can help you with all kinds of tasks from the minor ones till the major ones. They can sometimes fulfil unusual requests, such as ordering a children’s birthday cake with a certain theme.

Which American Express credit cards offer concierge services?

The services and facilities simply depend on the annual fee of the card. So, if someone has a platinum card or a “black card” from American Express, they are eligible for concierge services. Mentioned below are some of the cards that come with access to concierge benefits such as:

    • American Express Platinum Card (annual fee: $695)
    • American Express Business Platinum Card (annual fee: $695)
    • Hilton Honours American Express Aspire card (annual fee: $450)
    • Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express card (annual fee: $550)

Keeping in mind the current travel situation has led to decreased service when it comes to American Express cards. The Amex concierge, after all, is part of an in-house team dedicated solely to American Express customers only. Chase, meanwhile, relies on the Visa Infinite or Visa Signature concierge service for its customers and provides much more benefits.

Whether Chase or American Express which one is a better fit really depends on the situation and the user’s opinion.

As every coin has two sides, similarly both these concierge comes with both benefits and drawbacks. It totally depends upon the manner that the services are being used.
